Xiaomi, a tech giant known for its smartphones and smart devices, has now entered the electric car market with the launch of its first-ever electric sedan, the SU7. Breaking new ground in the automotive industry, Xiaomi introduces the SU7 in two impressive variants: the SU7 and the SU7 Max. Priced competitively starting at 215,900 yuan (approximately ₹24.90 lakh), the SU7 undercuts the Tesla Model 3 in China, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious EV buyers.

SU7’s Variants & Specifications

The SU7 comes in four variants: an entry-level version, a Pro variant, a Max version, and a limited Founders Edition. All variants share a sleek four-door sedan design with ample space for passengers and cargo. Standard features include 19-inch Michelin alloy wheels and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.

The SU7, a rear-wheel-drive marvel, boasts impressive specifications that showcase its prowess on the road. With a top speed of 210 km/h, a remarkable range of 668 km, and an acceleration that propels it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.28 seconds, the SU7 stands out in the growing electric car market. The torque and horsepower are equally impressive, measuring at 400Nm and 299PS respectively.

On the other hand, the SU7 Max takes the electric car experience to the next level. This dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant can reach a top speed of 265 km/h, offering an extended range of 810 km on a single charge. Its acceleration is even more remarkable, achieving 0-100 km/h in a mere 2.78 seconds. The torque and horsepower specifications for the SU7 Max are an astounding 838Nm and 673PS, setting a new standard for electric performance cars.

The Founders Edition takes things a step further with a dual-motor, four-wheel-drive powertrain, delivering nearly 986 bhp of power and a 0-100 kmph sprint time of just 1.98 seconds.

Xiaomi has partnered with CATL to equip the SU7 with two battery options: a 73.6 kWh pack for entry-level variants and a larger 101 kWh pack for the top-of-the-line model. These batteries are designed to provide at least 700 kms of range on a single charge. Additionally, Xiaomi plans to introduce a larger 150 kWh battery pack next year, promising an extended range of 1,200 km.

One of the standout features of the SU7 is its charging capabilities. With support for charging up to 800V, the SU7 can gain an impressive 220 km range in just 5 minutes of charging or an extended 510 km range in 15 minutes. This rapid charging capability positions Xiaomi’s electric car as a convenient and practical choice for users with busy lifestyles.

Style and Comfort Go Hand in Hand in SU7

The SU7 offers a variety of exterior color options, including Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, Verdant Green, Diamond Black, Lava Orange, Pearl White, Radiant Purple, Basalt Gray, and Meteor Blue. The interior complements the exterior with four color choices: Galaxy Gray, Twilight Red, Mist Purple, and Obsidian Black.

Xiaomi’s driver-centric Smart Cabin prioritizes ease of use with a high-performance Snapdragon 8295 chip ensuring smooth operation. The centerpiece is a massive 16.1-inch 3K central console, complemented by a 56-inch head-up display (HUD) and a unique 7.1-inch rotating dashboard.

Passengers can also join in the entertainment with two tablet mounts integrated into the seat backs. This abundance of screens is seamlessly controlled by the intuitive OS, which launches in under 1.5 seconds and offers a familiar tablet-like interface. Connectivity is another strong suit, with the system automatically recognizing smartphones upon entering the car and providing one-touch access to phone functions directly from the central console.

SU7’s Platform & Features

All variants of the SU7 are built on Xiaomi’s self-developed platform, known as the Xiaomi EV Modena Architecture, demonstrating the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle technology.

Xiaomi Founder and CEO, Lei Jun, expressed ambitious plans for the company in the automotive industry. He stated,
